category: Engagement photos

Preparing for a very busy wedding season in the coming weeks, I got things started Saturday photographing Tara and Ryan’s engagement session in the morning and a bridal portrait in the afternoon.

Tara and Ryan, whose wedding I’ll be photographing in Cary in September, had mentioned trying some locations at the McColl Center For Creative Arts in Charlotte and it turned out to be a fun spot for pictures. An added bonus was the new North Carolina Dance Theatre building, which was another interesting location for photography.

They were naturals in front of the camera and we had a great time with the photo session.

Congratulations Tara and Ryan - I’m looking forward to photographing you again in September!

Emily and Todd, a fun Charlotte couple who will be getting married in Greensboro in July, made a brief appearance on our blog.

That was before someone hacked our blog administrator and knocked the blog offline for a few days. When we got it back Emily and Todd had disappeared.

Well, here they are again. We had a great time in Freedom Park before moving for some colorful shots in the South End area.

Elizabeth and Brad live in New York City but they are getting married in Charlotte in late May.

They traveled down for their engagement photos to take advantage of the spring weather and beautiful southern settings.

Thanks to Aundrea at the Duke Mansion, which was alive with spring flowers and foliage.

We had a great time and I’m really looking forward to their wedding.

Safe travels Elizabeth and Brad and I’ll see you in May!

I hadn’t met Alison and David before our photo shoot Monday. I was concerned it might be a washout as showers fell in the morning and rain was forecast throughout the day.
The couple lives near Boston but will be getting married here this Saturday in the Lake Norman area. It was great to get a chance to get to know each other a bit before the wedding.
I knew we were going to hit it off right away as they drove up totally unconcerned about the weather. They said they had been doing so much planning and preparing and they just wanted to enjoy themselves throughout the process.
The rain held off and the cloudy skies created a beautiful soft light. Alison and David have such great chemistry and were so comfortable in front of the camera that it made it a pleasure to photograph them.
I know their wedding is going to be spectacular with the talented Ivy Robinson handling the planning. Make sure to check back next week for wedding images.
