Charlotte Ballet got its season off to a sizzling start with a mix of traditional and modern.
George Balanchine’s classical The Four Temperaments showcased the dancer’s precision and form. And Balanchine muse and soon-to-be Kennedy Center honoree Patricia McBride is an incredible resource for the company.
Things turned to the modern and musical with Sasha Janes’ Dangerous Liaisons, which mixes dance, fencing and set design with an original score from popular cellist Ben Sollee, who performs the music live suspended above the stage.
