Elizabeth and Taylor had an elegant wedding ceremony Saturday at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
The celebration moved on to Carmel Country Club for a fun-filled reception with lots of dancing. Carmel Country Club social director Rosemary Johnson and the staff did a wonderful job creating a great atmosphere with help from floral designer Wayne Freeman. Haines Barksdale of For Goodness Cakes created another edible marvel.
The band “The Answer” from Atlanta kept guests moving all night. It was great to witness the closeness of these two families as they celebrated together.

While spending most of last week following Tiger Woods and other PGA golfers around at Quail Hollow, I did break away on Saturday to photograph a beautiful wedding in Charlotte.
Although I was a bit fatigued from walking many miles carrying a 400mm Nikon lens, the day was made easier by Kelsey and Connor’s wonderful families.
The weather had been good most of the week and we were hopeful that potential storms would hold off to allow for outdoor portraits at Kelsey’s parents’ home.
The ceremony at First Christian Church by the Rev. Jolin Wilkes McElroy included some stirring music from Catrina Pegues. Following the wedding, things got a bit dicey as the rain came and lightning lit up the sky.
We had to opt for a quick plan B and headed over to the EpiCentre in an effort to find a dry spot.
We ended up having fun and got some cool shots at Suite, a lounge on the fifth floor.
From there we headed over to CenterStage@NoDa for the reception. The amazing Carolyn Shepard did an incredible job creating a wonderful ambiance with her design skills. One of our favorite confectioners, Jill Delmastro, or Cake Lady Jill, created another beautiful cake.
Kesley’s mom Jill also raved about the food prepared by Michael Bader, the chef at CenterStage.
Congratulations to Kelsey and Connor and your families.

The Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte has grown into one of the premier stops on the PGA Tour and I spent last week documenting the event for tournament officials.

With the exception of Saturday when I photographed a beautiful wedding here in Charlotte, I spent most of my waking hours at the south Charlotte golf course.

With Tiger Woods in the field again this year the crowds were large and the weather worked out well with very little rain all week.

I’m glad to be associated with such a top-notch event and it seems no detail is too small as officials pull out all the stops to make the tournament successful.

It was good to catch up with old friends and to see some great golf action.

Be sure to check back later in the week for some images from Kelsey and Connor’s wedding.
